Sterilization Process at Tri-City Dental
At Tri-City Dental, our sterilization
area is state of the art, clean and safe environment. The sterilization
area is a dedicated portion of the office in which sterile and
non-sterile instruments flow through. There is a sterile side and a
non-sterile side. We gather all of the non-sterile instruments and take
them to the non-sterile side of the room where they are cleaned, rinsed
and wrapped. They are then put into the sterilizers. After they are
sterilized, they are sorted out on the sterile side of the room. This
prevents cross-contamination and makes the whole office a safer place
for patients and staff.We also monitor the sterilizers frequently to make sure they are working properly. We run biological monitoring strips through every machine. These strips tell us if each machine is reaching the right temperature to sterilize our instruments. Regular samples are sent to a third party for verification of the effective sterilization process. That is how we know that our instruments are always sterile which makes our office safer for everyone!
